This is a dangerous trend, in my opinion. Remember George Orwell's 1984? The Party sought to "educate" its populace to take no pleasure in sex through the Anti-Sex League, conducted experiments on females to find a way to literally nullify their ability to feel, and encouraged hate and fear over any of the finer emotions of love and trust. For the state to maintain control, they sought to crush the human spirit and reduce their population to unthinking, unfeeling cubical drones. A work of science fiction, yes. But, how much different is it really if we see nothing wrong with graphic violence in media, but a woman's vulva is seen as something dirty and shameful and subjected to censorship? Censorship of expression is ultimately about people control, and if someone wants me to accept that watching someone's head blown off with a shotgun is somehow more appropriate for our viewing than an erotic situation between lovers, I'm sorry, I just can't trust that person.
I believe that showing any kind of violence while censoring anyone who dares draw a pussy is a dehumanizing factor that leads people to both feel insecure in their own skins while conditioning them to accept violence as something normal. That just isn't a positive trend in modern society.
My ex-wife seems to be a good representation of the problem. I was a nudist, and she was not. I was against kids being exposed to blood, violence, and gore, but she was ok with that stuff. When we had a child, arguments started. As usual in today's society, the man lost. We got divorced, and she got custody. So at the age of 5, our daughter was not allowed to ever be undressed, or to see anyone but her mother nude, but it was perfectly ok for her to watch graphically violent and gory R-rated movies. And when I said anything to court officials, they looked at me like _I_ was the sicko!
I don't like the limits DA imposes, but I only see them as a symptom of a much larger problem.
The closest thing to a quick fix that I can see, would be for DA to open a sister site, where sexual stuff would be permitted. That way, if that site is attacked by a mob of prudes, at least this site would remain standing. The only other solution I can see, would be to keep chipping away at American thinking, to reverse how it thinks now. Maybe in a hundred more years we will get to where a lot of European nations got to more than 50 years ago. That, or we all pack up, lock, stock, and barrel, and move to some country like Sweden.
